Mid 18th century (c1760) dram or gin glass

Constructed from a single gather of  English lead glass but of inferior quality, it may be described as a trumpet bowl drawn into ball knop to short stem with cushion conical foot. Decoration consists of 12 flutes slightly twisted (known as ‘wrythen’ decoration) at base leading down to the incised ball knop. It has a rough snapped pontil scar and displays good striations to bowl and foot, with tool marks and small seeds.
