Clear Bubble ‘Dump’ Doorstop : A large dump probably intended to be used as a doorstop, produced circa 1870. Made from pale yellow-green bottle glass it is decorated internally with numerous bubbles in an apparently random pattern. (similar illustrated page 36, Fig 6.08 English Bottle Glass Dumps; Mary Skotnicki & Gregory Warren Wilson). Included within the metal and unintentionally introduced during manufacture are a number of very small bubbles, together with distinct striations. Condition is particularly good having only minor surface scratches. The base has expected scuff marks indicative of its age and a very rough, recessed, snapped pontil scar.
