Of unidentified origin and unknown date but possibly Venetian, c1890, this perfume bottle is made of glass with a brass hinged top and chain with finger ring. The body is enamelled in gold and is heavily embossed with flowers, leaves and tendrils and subsequently enamelled in white, green, yellow and mauve. The bottle has a fitted glass stopper, also enamelled in gold which has become fast in the neck and is no longer removable. The brass top is plain apart from some engraved decoration on the top of the hinged lid. Some minor chipping to the flower petals and gilding, otherwise in fair condition.
